TGIF friends! Why is it that the week coming back to work from time off is always so hectic? I’m so happy the work week is over and I can just relax. I’d love to say I managed to find time to read during the week, but well that didn’t happen. I plan on getting some reading in this weekend during the #readyourfaceoff 24hr readathon. I’ll let you know down below what books I’m planning on getting read but first, let’s chat about what went on this week on the blog and channel. I also want to share some posts I’ve enjoyed by other creators this week. Let’s jump in, shall we?
Books Read: A big fat 0
Books Currently Reading: I’m currently in the middle of 8 books. I’m very close to finishing at least 3 of them. Fingers crossed I can manage that this weekend.
This week on the blog:
I’ve been slowly getting back into my blogging routine. Participating in the Blog Ahead challenge is helping me get back on schedule. I have scheduled 10 posts for November and December so far. I’m a bit behind on the challenge since I was on vacation the first week of the challenge so I’m hoping I can catch up this weekend. Along with the Blog Ahead posts, I’ve also been working on getting into my regular posting schedule here on the blog and on my channel. Here are some of the posts I’ve managed to get up on the blog this week.
Some of these were due to cross-posting between my channel and my blog. I know some of you are not subscribed to my YouTube channel and only follow me here so I wanted to make sure you didn’t miss out on any of my content.
Normally this is the section where I would share what I watched this week. However, that was also a big fat zero so let’s chat about some posts from other creators that I enjoyed.
Amber from The Literary Phoenix posted a blog post this week called “Hello, I Read Books” that I found myself just nodding along to because I related to it. In this post, Amber discusses how awkward it is to discuss our love of reading outside of the online bookish community. I absolutely loved it and would recommend you check it out if you haven’t had a chance to yet.
Have you met Jolien at The Fictional Reader yet? I found her blog through her Booktube Channel. She is the sweetest. I love her content both on her blog and channel. Her reviews are so damn articulate and well thought out. I have serious envy because she makes it look so easy. This week the content I’d like to share from Jolien would be her blog post called “My bookish habits” where she shares all the habits she has picked up over her reading journey. This was also a post that I could relate to because I share some of them. Also like Jolien, I was completely unaware of these habits until my friends and family pointed them out to me. I bet there are some on her list that you do as well. You should go check it out.
Here are some of the videos I enjoyed this week on Booktube.
I met Alyssa through #borrowathon. She is the sweetest. Please go check out her channel. In this video, she talks about the lowest rated books on her TBR. I love these types of videos and I can’t wait to see what Alyssa’s thoughts will be in her update.
Have you checked out Common Spence yet? If you haven’t then you need to because his content is amazing! I love Spencer. He is so funny and his videos always make me smile. In this video, Spencer shares his thoughts on the Charmed reboot that is coming out on the CW this Sunday. I am a huge fan of the original Charmed series and this video made me want to binge watch it again. I need to find it on Netflix or Hulu so I can relive all the witchy FEELS!
In case you missed the announcement, this weekend is the #readyourfaceoff October 24hr readathon. It starts on Saturday at 9 am and ends on Sunday at 9 am in your time zone. This is a very laid back readathon. There are no challenges and you don’t have to belong to the group on Goodreads to participate. Just share your TBRs and updates using #readyourfaceoff on Twitter or Instagram so we can find your posts.
Here are the books I’ll be reading from during the readathon.
These are all books I’m currently reading and I’d like to finish at least two of them this weekend. I would love to finish all four but I doubt that will happen since two of them are tomes.
That’s it for this week’s My Week In A Nutshell. Will you be participating in the readathon this weekend? Have you read any of the books I featured in today’s post? Let’s chat down below in the comments.
As always keep on reading and stay book nerdy my friends!
