How did I get it? Book of The Month subscription box

What’s it about? Stella is successful in many ways except one. She has Asperger’s and because of this, she struggles with connecting with people. She is concerned this will be an obstacle for achieving her goal of one day having a family of her own. In an attempt to take control and overcome this, she hires an escort by the name of Michael to teach her about sex. The romantic story takes off from there.

Thoughts:

I loved this! The Kiss Quotient is both sexy and sweet. Hoang totally nailed it with this debut novel in my opinion and I can’t wait to read more by this author. Stella was absolutely endearing and quirky. I found her so easy to relate to since I share her social anxiety. Michael was always careful to ensure he had Stella’s consent and he was so thoughtful of Stella’s feelings. These two together are the most adorable couple.

The only thing I had an issue is that one of my least favorite plot devices, miscommunication, was used to create conflict. I get that this is something Stella would struggle with so it would be authentic to her character. However, as an avid reader of the romance genre, I still find it frustrating how often miscommunication is used to create tension or drama to make the romance more angsty.

All in all, I really loved this book. This is definitely one of my top favorite romances that I’ve read so far. I can’t wait to see what Hoang comes up with next. I would highly recommend this for anyone that is looking for a book that will give them all the happy FEELS. Just know that there are many steamy sexy times in this book so if you don’t like explicit sex scenes then this one might not be for you.

My Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

As always keep on reading and stay book nerdy my friends!
