Happy Saturday my friends! I hope you all are having a great start to your weekend. Today I wanted to share some of my favorite things in January. Also a quickie snap shot on the thumbnail of the gorgeous weather we’ve been having here in AZ. I don’t know if I captured it right in the picture but it’s been breezy lately and sometimes cloudy. I’m really loving it and pretty much leave the windows in my apartment open all day to let in the fresh air. I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts because oh boy when the heat hits I’m going to hide indoors sealed up tight with the a/c on.
Before we jump into my favorites I want to share some honorable mentions that didn’t quite make the list. I still really enjoyed them, they just were not favories. In January, I ventured out of my apartment a couple of times. I was a bit nervous at first because I had gotten so sick mid December. I was going stir crazy though so I asked my sister Elisha to get me out of my apartment for a few hours. We went to Barnes so I could browse a bit and I got myself a caramel frappuccino. Thank you mom for the gift card because I probably would not have splurged on myself that way. So first honorable mention is this drink from the B&N cafe. It was good, I just wish the caramel flavor had been stronger.
The last two on my honorable mentions list are two books that I read in January. I want to make it absolutely clear that just because I didn’t give them 5 stars doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy them. I just have some pretty high standards when it comes to books that I give 5 stars too. They have to be books that stay with me long after I finish the last page. They have to freakin’ wow the shit out of me and leave me wanting more. Unfortunately, not every book has the capability to do that for me. Also, I cannot stress enough just because it wasn’t a 5 star for me doesn’t mean it won’t be for you. Everyone brings their own life experiences and biases to the table when they consume any kind of media. So just because you loved a book doesn’t mean I will and vice versa. Both opinions are completely valid. So if you read them and want to discuss then let’s do so in the comments section. That said the two books I’m talking about are:

That’s all for my January favorites. I hope you enjoyed today’s post. I’m thinking it would be fun to share my favorite things each month. I’ve already been working on my list for February.
